Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s prompt: Books I HAD to Have Immediately but Still Haven’t Read (this is a throwback topic from 2022)

I’m joining a bit late, but I still made it! It’s been hectic over here, so this is my weekly check-in to let you all know I’m still around (haha). Although most of the time I’m not even sure where I am because of my toddler… so yeah… On today’s topic, I love it because I have the tendency to buy books I want to read so badly, then I just abandon them and forget I even bought them in the first place… Here we go, in no particular order:

  1. The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer, John Burgoyne
  2. Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett
  3. The Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop by Takuya Asakura, Yuka Maeno
  4. The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater
  5. The Blanket Cats by Kiyoshi Shigematsu, Jesse Kirkwood
  6. The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong
  7. Pearl by Siân Hughes
  8. Brightstorm by Vashti Hardy
  9. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
  10. A Pinch of Magic by Michelle Harrison

Happy reading, and let me know what’s on your list!

  1. I also buy books and then abandon and forget about them haha! I’ve read Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter and it was good ❤ I hope you love all of these if you ever end up reading them ❤

    1. I knowww I’ve seen them too, and many a time I panicked because I thought it was Tuesday hahah

This book is highly renowned, so I have high expectations, and I can’t wait to read it too. Fingers crossed we both end up loving it!

  3. We’re very much in the same boat….I have a toddler and no idea what day of the week it is and I also have a tendency to buy books and then forget all about them, more so now 😂 I hope you enjoy these if you ever get to them.

    1. Ohh, glad I am not the only one! I have had this book on my TBR for such a long time, and I can’t wait to get to it. If you read it before me, let me know 🙂 I know most of the people I follow have read TTOSF, and the majority of them loved it the rest liked it. Therefore, I have high hopes for it.

  5. Toddlers are SO fun! Ha ha. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was at my house the other day and, wow, what a whirlwind. So cute and entertaining, though. We both needed a nap after her visit 😉

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  7. I bought the Brightstorm series for my grandson (kindle) and he didn’t like reading on his tablet, so hasn’t read them. I thought I would, but haven’t yet. You have some good reading ahead here Lin. I hope you get some time for yourself to read and/or relax. I know how busy it can get with a toddler.

    1. Oh, I hope we all enjoy the Brightstorm series once we get to it! Also, thank you, fortunately I manage to squeeze some reading time on the go, but the relaxing part is missing, hahah it definitely is very busy and hectic, but I keep saying that it wil get better 🙂
