Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s prompt: Genre Freebie

Ah, today is a freebie, and I don’t really know what to choose… I guess on this one, I will go with Non-fiction books about nature I would love to read:

  1. Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  2. Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  3. The Servingberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  4. Be a Birder by Hamza Yassin
  5. Entagled Life by Merlin Sheldrake
  6. Ancient by Luke Barley
  7. Other Minds by Peter Godfrey-Smith
  8. When the Forest Breathes by Suzanne Simard
  9. Footprints in the Woods by John Lister-Kaye
  10. Elegy for a River by Tom Moorhouse

Non-fiction, especially related to nature, is one of the genres I would like to read more of this year. These books are some of the ones I am eyeing and wanting to read. Recently, I started Footprints in the Woods, which I was enjoying, but had to put it on pause because I need to be in the right headspace to enjoy this particular genre. As a mood reader, this is a struggle, since my brain is craving one thing one minute and something else the very next…

Happy reading, and tell me what you have chosen for today’s topic, or is there a book from this list that tickles your interest?

  1. Great choice of topic. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction and when I do it tends to be about true crime, but Braiding Sweetgrass has really piqued my interest. So many people I know have read and loved it and it makes me want to give it a try!

    1. Thank you! I didn’t like nonfiction back in the day, but ever since I’ve gotten older, I tend to crave it. Oh, I remember loving a podcast about true crime, My Favourite Murder, I think it was. Can’t wait to read Braiding Sweetgrass, same here. A lot of people are raving about it, and I need to see what the hype is all about :)I hope we both enjoy it 🙂

  2. I hope you’ll enjoy these! I’m not a nonfiction reader in the first place, let alone about nature.

  4. I keep hearing the best things about Braiding Sweetgrass – I am going to have to bump it up my TBR I think 🙂

I haven’t read a lot of nature nonfiction, but I enjoy science-y nonfiction so this should be something right up my alley 🙂 Great list!

Very nice, I am a fan of the nature reading as well. I love the Serviceberry and it’s a great place to start, its short and moves quickly along but makes a great argument. Enjoy 🙂 I have a little bit of natural world related lit on my list this week if interested … https://theparteveryoneskips.com/posts/030426-books-on-the-southwest/
