REVIEW:
Let me say, considering the previous romance books I have read, this one was very enjoyable. It was still cringy when it came to the whole relationship and intimacy, but if I let that slide, I enjoyed everything else moderately.
I will be continuing with the series because now I am curious to see what happens with the other characters and how the author will play out the whole small town couples, and how they will be intertwined in each book.
The plot was cosy, low-stakes, and both main characters had some of their own trauma to deal with, which gave them some depth and relatability. I wish there were more getting-to-know-you chapters, so they could create a more stable and credible bond. Instead of going headfirst- insta love, imminent sexual attraction, it just doesn’t work that way in real life. I don’t know, maybe for some it did, but I am pretty sure this is a very rare exception.
I don’t know, like I already said in a previous review, same romance, different characters. Here, I guess the writing style was more captivating, and the small-town side characters helped a lot with my enjoyment for my own sake.
When it comes to the mystery bit, it could have been done better and made more interesting. I honestly thought it might be one of Logan’s female friends because she might have had something for him… Had this gone this way, I would have been so hooked! And it would not have received the rating it did, but I digress.
If you know what I mean, let me know if you had the same thought!
Overall 3 solid stars!
