Goodreads Monday / TBR Monday is a bookish meme hosted by Emily @ Budget Tales Bookblog. It is about what book is on your to-read list, what progress have you made on your current books, and what reading challenges are you taking part in?

Happy Monday! I don’t know what is happening right now, but we woke up with snow, did we fast forward to December and I blinked and missed it?

Sooo what will the Easter Bunny bring us?

Also, the weekend has been busy and my husband was off for the first time during it so we spent some quality time together all 3 of us. I on the other hand have come down with some pain in my back that did not let me sleep for a couple of nights and had to take painkillers. The side effect of sleeping on the couch for 6 months and constantly having to carry your baby because she does not want to be without you, which is only natural but detrimental to my well.. arms, back, sleep and everything else hahaha nah I’m not complaining just sharing, therefore I was not very present on the blog and will definitely catch up this week!

    1. It is crazy!! I don’t know where this weather is going, today was sunny but cold… go figure you too and happy reading 🙂

  2. I want to read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.

I hope that your back etc gets better soon. I spent most of my time on the sofa. My second seems a bit more outgoing, but then there is always something going on.

I often get headaches or have bad nights when we have nice things planned 🙄

How funny to wake up to snow 😂

Have a good week and get well soon

    1. Ohh I think you will like it!! If you do read it let me know I want to know your thoughts!

My back is a bit better thank you! I have no other choice but to sleep on the sofa since her cot is here we moved it so my husband can sleep since he works only nightshifts and otherwise he would not be able to get any sleep. But my ache is not for the sofa but from carrying her around all the time haha.

This is awful and curious I would say.

It was funny indeed especially now that spring should be coming. My husband showed me videos form all over Bulgaria in the north there are snow blizzards, people left without electricity it is crazy. One day we have the aircon at 20 the next at full blast because it is freezing again. not goint to mention all the crops that have now died which means everything will be imported and even more expensive….

You too Emily, always great chatting with you! ❤

      1. I have just been accepted for A Witch’s Guide To Magical Innkeeping so we shall see if I like the style. I am very excited to try it!

Bless you. They get so heavy so quickly don’t they?! As I stay at home I do all the night stuff.

That is crazy! I dont know what we would do without electricity. Our hob is electric so we wouldn’t be able to boil water 😶 we keep looking at air con but we have an open plan downstairs and as we are mid terrace there are few places for the air con thing to vent.

Ergh that’s a pain. What with all the political turmoil you just never know do you.

        Thank you. Same! I love a chat 😊 ❤️

      2. Yeyy fingers crossed you do end up liking it! I am curious to know your thoughts once you finish it!

They dooo, the day before yesterday we went to buy her new bodysuits lol she outgrew them overnight! I am still baffled haha

Same here everything is electric… luckily we are in the south so it is unlikely for a blizzard like this to hit us still fingers crossed! Hopefully, you will be able to fit one in. We have 2 aircon and can’t without.

        Exactly!

        Sameee haha ❤️❤️

      3. Thank you 😊 🤞🏼

Crazy! We are at the in-between stage so clothes are either way too small or way too big. He is fussy about trousers length too 🙄

We are in a pretty good position really. Ergh I just don’t think it will ever happen. We have talked about it every year since maybe 2017 🤔😂

        ❤️❤️

      4. Ahh, tell me about it like I mentioned, I just bought her bodysuits, and now the trousers are too small, haha. Ahh, I have to make another trip to the baby shop and just buy anything from 9 months up!

it’s been a while, I see, haha, as long as it does not affect you, I mean, the summers are getting hotter, though here you can’t survive without one. no fan will save you everyone has an air-con. Crazy how much the climate is changing..

        ❤️ ❤️

      5. It’s the waistband that is so large on him. He needs the length, not the width 😂 he is 21 months, but 18-24 months are huge and anything smaller is too small. I think it depends on shop as well.

Yeah I just don’t know where we can put it though 😶 haha fans just move around hot air.

It is and it’s scary! ❤️❤️

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Ahh, this is what we experience, too the waistband is either too small or too big for her, so I take out clothes she was gifted for 9-12 months old, and they fit, but her legs are too long, so I just roll them up haha

This is an issue yeah.. maybe you can get a vertical one instead? there are different types maybe at least one will fit in your layout. So true about fans back then we loved them now they are useless as the weather gets crazier and crazier…

        Liked by 1 person

      7. Yeah. Rolling is good. The only problem is that if they unroll it can be very stressful 🤣 the anger that appears 🤣

I have no idea. We literally discuss it, remember that we are mid terrace and forget about it. The weather is frightening really.

      8. Yes!! hahah been there done that! Although she is growing so fast that she will outgrow them soon enough.

Hopefully, you will find a way! And yes it is frightening 😦

      9. 😂

I think it’s that we don’t know what is going to happen. Today I saw two articles on weather, one naming the areas of the UK being covered in snow and the other one saying about a mini heatwave 🙄

        Liked by 1 person

      10. Same here, one half is covered in snow and blizzards, the other one has spring and good weather coming… also one does not know how to dress.. one minute is cold, the next the sun comes out and you are sweating then it starts raining lool

        Liked by 1 person

      11. Crazy, but then the UK has always been a bit up and down. It just seems to have gotten more extreme in terms of heat. I always layer and pack so many clothes for an afternoon trip 😂

        Liked by 1 person

      12. It’s true England has become more warm! The heat is crazy, here in Bulgaria where we live in the summer, feels like you are in one of Dante’s circles of hell! I guess it will be the same lol will be packing so many clothes when we go outside with the little one

      13. We literally grow grapes down the road from me!

        Crazy times!

Honestly you just never know. I feel that it is better to over pack than under pack and when you have a pushchair you can put loads of stuff in the bottom of it 🤣

        Liked by 1 person

      14. Oh wow you have grapes, we have pomegranate and cherries and some green plums haha they are just street trees

        They are crazy indeed!

Tell me about it, today we went out, I packed her bag with everything hahah spare clothes, nappies, her food, toys, outerwear, since you never know the weather, even a blanky and guess what we need dup use ALL of the things I packed haha also I got weird looks for changing her nappy inside of the restaurant where we had lunch beacuse they dont have any space inside the toilet for mothers with babies.. i could not give a monkey’s ass and had someone made a remark he or she would have experienced what a mother’s rage felt. The least I would have expected was a bigger toilet but i could barely fit in there lol i was fuming and they saw it so thankfully they had the staff had the common sense to leave me alone so yeah long story short it is a handful but now i understand why some mothers don;t blink twice when they have to do what they have to do and don’t care about what other people might say or judge them for

      15. Yeah, a 5 mins drive down the road. It is crazy. They make wine there (and have a large orchard too where they make cider and apple juice but you expect apples in England 😂)

That is crazy! I’ve had to change mine in the back of the car because the toilets were out of order. We can’t do that now as the boot is too small. I breast feed in public. Not so much now, but I did. My oldest son has autism and we believe ADHD so his behaviour in public is poor. You get mixed reactions. If I saw him as a stranger I would be horrified 😂 I am too stressed and tired to pay much attention though. It is what it is.

      16. Ohh this is nice! You live in a nice area too by the sounds of it.

People will watch and judge no matter what you do! This much I know, and you never will be able to please everyone. So I stopped caring, my baby was crying today in the shop, and a lady before me at the till gave me way. I said it was totally fine, but she insisted, so I thanked her. Then we went for a coffee with a friend and she started crying there too, and the staff tried to distract her, so it really depends where you end up, some people will understand, others will be difficult, but oh well. I unfortunately do not have milk due to the stress of the emergency delivery. I had it for a few weeks after she was born, and then it completely stopped on its own by the second month.. Also, you should never apologise for your child, especially when he has autism/ADHD, we have a lot of special needs kids around, and I can see the horror in their parents’ faces. People should learn to be more tolerant towards kids and their parents because it is always easier to judge..

      17. I do. Of course there is still crime, but then where isn’t there? We get countryside crime – kids with catapults

Oh that was lovely of her.

True. To be fair most people are pretty good. Although my partner had an issue with a security guard 🙄

Bless you. My boobs didn’t grow correctly either time but somehow still manage to make some milk. We then had tongue tie with both of them so it was a bit stressful trying to keep the milk going whilst we were waiting for their tongues to be cut. It was a nightmare trying to get it diagnosed both times. At least the second time we knew that it was there and could fight it.

Indeed. Plus Autism is inherited so one, other or both parents probably have it too. In our case both my partner and I, not that we have been diagnosed but it is pretty obvious 😂

      18. It is true that people commit crimes everywhere and the culprits are getting younger and younger, which is concerning…

It was nice, but not may people will put your shoes on and put themselves in your situation. Oh no what happened with that security guard?

Yes, I had it for a little still managed to give her some but the whole ordeal with the delivery left me in shock and as soon as it time it left. Its good you had milk! Ah most kids have tongue tie. We had it too but minimal, and it she outgrew it in the second month. Bless you at least is over now!

Speaking if inheritance i think i might have some form of Adhd myself lol never been diagnosed but from what I keep reading and seeing I think I definitely might 😅 the important this is that you and the kids are healthy the rest can be arranged. We always say this here because there is nothing more important than health 🙂

      19. They are. It is so scary.

I’m not entirely sure. He tried to get involved when my son wasn’t at his best. I wasn’t there.

Milk is a very stressful process. I really feel for you.

The problem is getting it diagnosed and then sorted. The kids were quite bad and my youngest has lip tie too. Not that you can do anything for that.

That’s the thing isnt it. Very eye opening getting your offspring diagnosed 😂

Exactly. Although I’m very worn out by it all. Good job I have my books 😂

Have a lovely weekend – I can’t believe that it is the weekend again!

      20. It is indeed!

Ah I see, luckily everything was alright no?

It was 90% of my friends who are mums have had the same issue and no milk came down. Life is just way too stressful and this unfortunately affects us mothers in this way… so we rely on AM

Yes it is not an easy task a friend in the UK had to do a test to her boy and it was not easy they had to start over many times because he wouldn’t concentrate and do what he was asked to. They diagnosed him with dyspraxia which in many cases comes with adhd and dyslexia which he also had. Oh bless him it must have been difficult on you as well.

Absolutely! As long as they are healthy all the other diagnoses are fine. There are so many people with adhd and autism having normal jobs and life! My ex had adhd and he was doing Absolutely fine! Man I think i have it the signs are all there haha I had a colleague with autism too and he was so fun and like a walking encyclopedia!

Same books are my escape and so grateful to have access to them even though an expensive one but still my only indulgence hahs

Thank you! You too hope your weekend is great 🙂

      21. Yeah everything was ok in the end.

Wow that’s a lot! It seems that it is more of a choice to bottle feed rather than because milk didn’t come in, but I don’t know why I think that 🤔

My youngest son can’t take formula. Whenever we did try him on it he was sick so there wasn’t any point.

Oh it is a ridiculous process. We started before school so it has been years in the making. It is tough and I just don’t see an end any time soon. He has speech and language difficulties with his autism so everything is that much harder.

Yeah I don’t really spend money on anything. I haven’t had new clothes in a while. I hate clothes shopping though so 😂

        Thank you ☺️

      22. Glad to hear this!

It is yes, there are breastfeeding consultants, but there is only so much they can do. If no milk is coming and nothing works, that’s it, you are forced to use AM. I don’t really know how it’s over there, but here we have a lot of AM to choose from, depending on the baby and stuff. I personally probably tried 5 or 6 before settling down with the one that my baby was happy with.

I’m really sorry to hear about this, bless him and poor you, it must have been difficult! Here, they also sell milk from mothers who have excess milk or who have lost their babies and are donating milk. I recently found out about this, there are so many things one learns once a baby comes, haha, some are very useful, others I wish I never knew in the first place lol haha

Ah, bless you… It definitely is knowing how the NHS works, and you as well. It is a daunting process indeed for the kids and for the parents. Hopefully, he will outgrow the speech difficulty and will be able to manage the autism as he grows. As mentioned, my friend’s two sons, the older one has dyspraxia and the younger one has dyslexia and started talking properly at 4 or 5, and they also suspected ADHD back then, they were 3 and 6; now they are 9 and 12 and doing great. The little one is reading on his own now. It definitely is not easy, but still.

I just bought a new dress for the first time since forever because my husband’s birthday is coming and we want to celebrate 🙂

Hope you have a wonderful week, and I send you only positive vibes!

        Like

      23. Yeah. They can’t magic the milk! I didn’t realise that there were so many to choose from. I used Cow and Gate for my oldest and my youngest never got on with it so we didn’t really pursue it. We got his tongue cut earlier so it wasn’t as big an issue.

I presume that we have the same here. My sister apparently fills a bottle when she pumps. I barely got a few cm in height 😂 mm if I was lucky!

His speech is getting better, but he doesn’t understand what is being said to him a lot of the time. He is so confident though and will talk to anyone even though when they talk back to him he probably won’t understand what they are saying.

Woot woot! I’m going to get some more jeans tomorrow with my mum as a birthday present for me.

        Thank you. You too ☺️
