Time Travel Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog where readers take a look back at what they were reading this time last year (or the year before or the year before that…) and compare it to what you are reading now.

Happy Thursday! Today I am travelling back to 2017, that year I read a total of 52 books and here are some:

WHAT I WAS READING BACK IN 2017:

I just picked a few at random there were quite a few to choose from lol

WHAT AM I READING NOW:

I notice back that I was heavy on the YA genre than I am now. Ever since I turned 30 I find myself not reading as much YA as I used to before. I still do enjoy the genre, but I am looking for more mature, content with characters that actually have some development and are close to my age for a change.

I would love to continue with Breakwater though I remember enjoying it a lot and I love mermaids so… Strangely enough, this is the only mermaid book I have read…

If you have any recs with mermaids please do share!!

  1. Hmm, this is a nice meme. I may try it, though I do Throwback Thursday, which is a variation on the theme.

  2. When I first started blogging in 2011, I read a lot of YA. The genre outside of the Twilight saga which I read with my teenage daughters I had never really dived into YA. When I was that age I was reading King, Koontz and the classics. Now I read everything but not YA so much.

    1. I do get that, I was mainly reading YA, but since I hit 30 I started to gravitate towards books that represent my age group such as A Discovery of Witches which I loved. I have never been one for the classics, but I am trying to change that and read more of them now 🙂
