Guess what!? It’s Friday again, which means it is LTB time!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish discussion meme created by Rukky @Eternity Books and co-hosted by Aria @Book Nook Bits and Dini @DiniPandaReads. Each Friday, bloggers will write posts about a particular topic and share on their blog.

So, let’s dive into it straight away…

Prompts: How many books do you typically read in a year? Do you always track your reading? Does keeping track of the books you read motivate you or stress you out? How do you keep track of the books you read? Do you have a 2025 reading goal?

  1. How many books do you typically read in a year?

This really depends on a lot of factors. Work, housework, dealing with a newborn, and so many other things. I would say, on average, I strive to read at least 10 books a year, if I read more, it is a pleasant surprise. Last year, I managed to read 27 books. Looking back on my Goodreads reading challenges, the average I read is about 27.6 books a year. In no way do I feel the pressure or the need to read precisely said number of books, I read for pleasure mainly.

2. Do you always track your reading? Does keeping track of the books you read motivate you or stress you out?

Yes! In fact, I do, and I find this to be of great help in keeping me motivated and on track. It also helps me discover new books, and it connects me to other like-minded people. I’ve only been stressed during the time I read ARCs that have to be read before a certain date, haha

3. How do you keep track of the books you read?

Here comes my favourite part, I have mainly been using Goodreads for a long time, but recently, I found out about Fable, Uncover and Storygraph. Not only are they useful for keeping track of the books, but they have some new and interesting features that give you more insight into your reading habits, which I love!

Some of my stats from Fable:

These are from Storygraph:

Connect with me on StoryGraph

I love these two more than I do Uncover. Unfortunately, you can’t update your reading progress there, at least not that I know of. But they do have some cool challenges that they enrol you automatically in, but you can opt-out anytime 😊

4. Do you have a 2025 reading goal?

Every year, I put 10 books as my reading goal, just because I never know if I would be able to read more than that due to, well, life. I’m happy to say that I have reached my goal already!

What about you? Do you use any of the apps I mentioned here? If yes, drop me your handle so we can connect there too 🙂

  2. Getting ARCs read on time can truly be the most stressful thing. I’m so glad that I’ve learned over the years to limit my ARCs to mostly invites and blog tours and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my reading and blogging life! 🤣 I use Goodreads and I’m kind of on Storygraph but I’ve only heard about Fable due to the controversy about their AI generated wrap-ups for certain BIPOC readers, lol. It was very funny but their graphics and layout look incredible! I’ve not heard of Uncover but how interesting that it doesn’t allow you to update your reading progress! Those layouts look so pretty though 😍

Thanks for participating in LTB this week! 🐼

    1. It can be stressful indeed! I try to limit them to the minimum, but I love discovering new books, and sometimes I’m guilty of biting more than I can chew 😅 oh never heard about this controversy regarding Fable! And yes, Uncover’s layouts are the prettiest of them all, haha

As always, my pleasure 🙂 thank you for stopping by ♡
