MY RATING:

Synopsis:
When my best friend found out I’d be alone over Christmas, she hooked me up with a week stay in her family’s cabin in Idaho. I was on a publishing deadline for my latest book and was really looking forward to a cozy week by the fire, cuddled up in flannel pajamas with my laptop and hot chocolate.
Alone.
Read More:
So imagine my surprise when I arrived at the cabin during a blizzard, and found it already occupied. By an all too familiar face and a fine pack of chiseled abs. Even though it had been ten years since I’d last seen Chase, he had no problem picking up exactly where we left off.
I had a big problem with it.
It didn’t matter what he threw at me—the old nickname, the teasing, his charming grin, or even those chiseled abs (did I already mention those?), I refused to let him get to me after…the incident. Nope, not me. I was made of stone.
Unfortunately, I’m beginning to understand that when you strike Chase against stone…you get sparks.
Lots of them.

REVIEW:
Why was this so short?!!!! I really enjoyed the story, the forced proximity and enemies-to-lovers trope, but I wish this were longer than it was. Hence, my review will be quite short as well.
I liked the lighthearted tone here; it was fun and clean with a lot of banter all in good spirits. The FMC was a little bit obtuse when it came to her survival skills and thought process, which did irritate me quite a bit. However, she did redeem herself a bit towards the end.
We keep following the side characters we met in the first novel, That Fine Line, and I really like how connected everyone and everything is. It is like watching a TV series, and I am all in for it!
The author keeps her writing style fun and witty with a note of nostalgia for childhood.
Chase was cuteee, wish there was a little bit more depth to his character, but he was fun to be around, and he just grows on you, you can’t help but like him!
Overall, a very quick, fun read, 3 solid stars. Continuing with the rest of the books 🙂
