Synopsis:
He mends her cottage, she mends his heart.
When Aurora Silvermoon inherits her auntie’s cottage in the cozy village of Faunwood, she’s thrilled. But when she and her talking cat familiar, Harrison, arrive in early spring, it’s a different story. The paint is peeling, the veranda is about to fall clean off, and there are literal holes in the roof. The cottage needs a lot of work before she can call it a home.

REVIEW:
Reminder to self: DON’T FALL FOR THE PRETTY COVER!
Riiiight, going on strong with my disappointment in romantasy/cosy fantasy books… This one might have been the worst so far. I did not know I was getting into reverse harem realm, and NOPE, this is not my tea AT. ALL. No judgment if it is yours, I just don’t find the whole harem idea appealing in any sort of way whatsoever.
Although this book is under 200 pages, it took me agesssssss to get to the last chapter. I was bored out of my mind. This is labelled as fantasy. Usually, when there is a fantasy and a witch in a sentence, one would expect there to be magic. Duhh! Right? Well, all we got was a whole bunch of nothing. Insta love, no magic, no whimsical, no nothing, not a glimpse of anything that might indicate that this witch does any kind of anything else but fix the cottage and drool over the grumpy carpenter. Poor guy, little did he know what he was getting himself into…
There was no plot, no story, just a pretext for the author to go into the reverse harem plot with the second book, apparently. I did like the MMC and Harrison the cat. Not gonna lie, the last couple of pages were skimmed. I could not be bothered at that stage. Don’t waste your time.
1.5 stars, not going to continue the series.
