It’s been a while since I did a book tag, and today I saw this one, and I knew I had to do it.
This tag popped up on my feed yesterday from Jillian the Bookish Butterfly Blog. Thank you, Jillian, for that!
- How many books are you planning on reading in 2026
For this year, my goal is to read 15 books. I aim for a smaller number of books since having a 1-year-old is taking up 90% of my energy, the rest is divided between house chores and my husband, haha (all good, not complaining, I love them both). Setting this low a goal takes off the pressure and makes me want to read more whenever I have the time to.

2. A book you are likely to reread this year
Oh, there is definitely more than one book I’d love to reread… But if I have to pick up one, it would be Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, since the movie adaptation is coming out this year. I don’t really watch movies anymore, but this is the one I am looking towards watching! This book was one hell of a ride, and I want to go back to this universe!

3. A priority read on your 2026 TBR
Normally, I do not do TBR, but I am trying to limit the books I am choosing from in order to make my selection easier, instead of wasting time going through my never-ending TBR pile. Hence, if I had to pick a read, it would probably be The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

4. An author you won’t be reading more books from this year
Hmmmm, I never really thought about this matter. Therefore, I don’t really know any author who would fit this category as of now. I need to leave this one blank.
5. Something new you want to read (i.e. new genres or tropes)
Definitely would like to read more cosy mystery/fantasy books. The older I get, the more peace of mind I need, and I think these genres would be perfect for me. I also would love to venture into thrillers and more Christian literature.
6. A popular book you want to read
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman comes to mind. I have been eyeing this one for a long time, and from what I have heard, it is a cosy, fun mystery series.

The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst is another one that I can’t wait to get to.

7. Most anticipated 2026 book release
The first book that comes to mind is Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett

8. A bookish goal for 2026
Really, I don’t have one and don’t feel like setting one either. Whenever I set a certain goal, it never goes as planned, so to spare myself the stress and headache, I just skip it.
9. A book that’s been on your TBR you probably won’t ever read

Nope, thanks… A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara I bought this one because everyone was raving about it, but I am so glad I checked the trigger warnings, and it is a hard pass for me.
10. A series you want to read this year
Absolutely want to read Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett series

11. Your autobuy authors going into 2026
Georgi Gospodinov, Fredrik Backman, and Rebecca Yarros. The last two are some authors I just find myself going back to. Gospodinov is a new find for me, but I can tell he will be an autobuy author as well. Other authors on top of my head include T.J Klune, John Green and V.E Schwab, as well as Maggie Stiefvater. Ok, this is more than one, but these are some of my go-tos.
12. A book to show adaptation you’re excited about this year
As mentioned earilier Project Hail Mary is the top adaptation I am looking forward to watching. I’m pretty sure People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry is also going to be addapted but I have not read the book yet, so can’t say anything else.
13. A sequel you’re anticipating
Can’t think of any at the moment.
14. A bookish thing you’re leaving in 2025
Getting too many ARCs, thinking I would be able to read them all in time. From now on, I am choosing only the ones that I know I have the time for.
15. What to expect from my blog
Expect to see honest reviews, book tags and bookish memes. I am so glad and happy to be part of our book community. There are so many amazing people I met thanks to blogging, so another thing is building our community more and engaging with everyone!
