THE REVIEW:
The message of the book is nice, I like the idea that the greatest gift of them all is the love we all carry inside, as well as the friendships we built over time and the journey each one of us will take with pride.
You see, I can rhyme too, it was not intentional actually! The whole book is written in rhymes, and although nice, it does get repetitive. And it probably was longer than it should have been for a children’s book.
The art was well, it was kind of nice; however, I found it not suitable for the audience it is aimed at. It is drawn in manga style, and the story… actually, the illustrations, do not fit the story. I found them to be disconnected from the plot in the sense of style; it felt like AI art…, and it did not sit well with me, just thrown in there, did not give any emotions to the characters, and they felt soulless and stiff. The landscape illustrations were really great, but where the characters were present, not really.
Regardless, the message is nice, and it was a solid 3-star read for me.
