MY RATING:

Synopsis:
An honest conversation about why you don’t do what you want — and how to change that.
This book isn’t about willpower — it’s about the power of honesty.
No fluff, no hype. Just a deep look into your inner saboteurs, the real reasons behind procrastination, and concrete steps to break the cycle of “I tried, but it didn’t work.”
Using an unexpected but simple example — working with your own wardrobe — you’ll see how habits are formed, how they disguise us, and how they can be gently, yet effectively, transformed. You will see how it feels to find yourself.
Stop trying. Start changing.

THE REVIEW:
Ok, I am a bit conflicted about this one… it definitely had some valid points when it comes to the technology turning our brains to mush with the attention span of two seconds with TikTok and YouTube and Instagram’s reels and shorts. I am all on board with those arguments. However, this was not the book I signed up for.
I was expecting a straightforward, guide on how to declutter your wardrobe and perhaps organise it in a certain way and how to get to choose which clothes to leave and how to save space and something in those lines lol. Instead, I got a lecture on how lazy we are and procrastinate and don’t dress up beautifully for each occasion, even for the smallest ones being going grocery shopping…
How about no? I don’t need to dress up and put on makeup just to pop to the local shop that is literally 5 minutes away from my house. No, I don’t need to create special occasions so I can wear my “desert” clothes and definitely no one has the time nor energy to take a photo of each and every outfit every day and have a diary about what they wore that day and how it made them feel (unless you do this for a living), I mean, reality left the door with this one. I’m a mother of a 7-month-old, lol, when do you think I have the time to do all that stuff, and no, I’m not lazy or procrastinating. I am PRIORITISING, and how I look and how I dress is most certainly my last worry!
I really needed a how-to practical advice, like a step by step tutorial on how to sort my wardrobe not how to sort my life out and put my shit together, I lost that battle long time ago.
This was the philosophical lecture on why we don’t do certain things and how we should do them that I did not need.
Mehh, I don’t know, maybe I am being too harsh, but I can’t help but feeling I was misled to think it would be a guide due to the “Using your wardrobe as a starting point” phrase, which I unfortunately find a lot of books use, deceiving blurbs and catch phrases to make the book more appealing or relatable where in reality is about something else entirely…
Like I said in the beginning, there were some pretty valid points and ideas, however, I feel misled and tricked. Oh well..
Definitely not for me, but it may be useful to someone else.
