Rating: 3 out of 5.

Synopsis:

Uh oh – your new boss is hot!
Miss Lovelock’s Agency for Broken Hearts specializes in tricky cases, and this London pair are definitely in a workplace pickle.
Evie’s always fallen for a certain type of guy, and every single one of them has broken her heart. So, when Leo is brought in as her new boss, Evie’s first reaction is “Uh oh”. He seems like her exact type, only hotter. Will she make yet another mistake?

Read More:

But as she quickly discovers, Leo’s also distant and demanding, with absolutely no sense of humor. Evie’s sure she’s totally safe from falling for him.
It’s only when Miss Lovelock’s team takes charge of the pair’s romantic destiny that Evie starts to see a whole different side of Leo.
Will this be yet another success for Miss Lovelock, or has Evie been burned too many times to take a risk with her boss?

THE REVIEW:

This was a cute, feel-good story that I enjoyed.
The story follows Evie, a 28-year-old who has no filters and always says whatever is on her mind, she is overly optimistic and has a bit too much childlike behaviour, and Leo, the handsome ex-model, is grumpy and funny but also mysterious. Oh, and he is the new boss of Evie!

I really liked the funny bits and the banter between the two of them, and I really liked Nicky, Evie’s bestie, whom I wish there was more of. The writing style was easy to follow, and it was nice to read British English for once! haha, I missed hearing the word “mate”! The side characters were kind of funny too.

There were some kind of paranormal elements and an attempt to break the fourth wall, which honestly I found to be cringy and totally unnecessary, but nevertheless, I can see why some people might like this approach.

There was some spiciness, which I did not mind, however at times it felt a bit too awkward? for how short the book was there was not much character development was not surprising. I was more interested in Leo’s character and Kev’s and wanted to see more of them and their personality in-depth.

Overall this was a quick lighthearted read that I enjoyed, but it didn’t give me much of anything hence it was a solid 3 stars read for me.
