I saw this tag going around in the book community and decided to partake!

Some shoutout to Dini @ dinipandareads where I saw it first.

What is the longest fantasy series that you’ve ever read?

This must be the longest series I have read, period! lol, I don’t tend to read series unless I know I will enjoy the story. Mainly, you will find me reading trilogies or so, very rarely long series.

Synopsis:

Goodreads Choice Award

Nominee for Favorite Book of 2011 (2011)Nominee for Readers’ Favorite Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction (2011)

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience.

Read More:

As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow-impossible though it seems-they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

Favourite fantastical setting or world:

Hmm, for this one I will choose:

I really love this world, the magic system, the characters. I would definitely say this is my favourite (or at least one!)

Besides HP, what is your favourite fantasy book/series?

There are so many to choose from!! I can’t just pick one and ignore the others!

What fantasy book do you wish was more popular?

When these three kids are forced to team up on an epic quest, it will take not one, not two, but 5 WORLDS to contain all the magic and adventure!

Your favourite villain:

Source Netflix

Yep, no other than The Darkling! I love how complex his character is, how human he is with all his flaws, and I really ship him and Alina! Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

What’s the first fantasy book you have ever read?

My very first fantasy book, I reread it every year. It is close and dear to my heart! A classic before its time.

What is your favourite mythical creature?

I would have to go with DRAGONS and MERMAIDS here!

The images are stock-free and I claim no intellectual property over them!

Favourite female protagonist from a fantasy book?

Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic!

Favourite male protagonist?

Matthew Clairmont! A Discovery of Witches, on a side note, I like the actor who, by chance, is also called Matthew Goode, I think he was destined to play this character!

I had fun! Let me know if you decide to do this tag!

  1. I read the first two Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I have read and listened to all of the Discovery of Witches series and all of the other books beyond the trilogy. I also recommend Anne Bishop’s Others series beginning with Written in Red…so good!

      1. Ohh that sounds really good! I’ll put it on my TBR now and hopefully will get to it one of these days. *lol* With me it always takes a little longer until I’m able to pick up a series. Life is keeping me too busy these days. >_< Since it isn't complete yet, it sounds like I'll have plenty of time to read it, though.

      2. Yeyyy, please let me know when/if you read it I want to know your thoughts about it 🙂 I am the same when it comes to series! I just don’t like the idea of committing to a series, but again, there are some really good ones out there.

  3. I read the first two in the Miss Peregrine series. I didn’t realize there were 6 books. I don’t read a lot of fantasy, so this tag probably won’t work for me. Nice answers, Lin.
