Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality, and it is all about sharing the new books we’ve acquired, be it in physical, digital or audio format! All the books count 🙂
Happy Saturday! How have you been since.. well… yesterday? haha, We are almost at 100% with the little one, and this is great! I am also excited to announce that my mini rose has a total of 3 roses now that are about the flower! She has been growing ever since I reported her 🙂
On the other hand, nothing really exciting has been going on since we were stuck at home. My mother-in-law will be coming to visit us this weekend, so this will be a nice little distraction for us. We are planning to go out to a restaurant together, it has been a while since we all gathered for a family outing. Looking forward to that!
Now, without further ado, here is my book haul since last week.
Clicking on the covers will take you to the Goodreads page of the books.
LIBRARY:
- Yeonnam-dong’s Smiley Laundromat by Kim Jiyun, Shanna Tan (Translator)
I have been waiting for this book to become available for ages now, and it finally did a few days ago!! I will have to start reading it because not much time is left until I have to return it, and already 4 people are waiting for it!

Synopsis:
*THE HEARTWARMING KOREAN BESTSELLER*
*A new book from Shanna Tan, translator of Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop*
Situated at the heart of a rapidly gentrifying district of Seoul, the Yeonnam-dong Smiley Laundromat is a place where the extraordinary stories of ordinary residents unfold.
Read More:
It is already a haven of tranquility and reflection for locals, but when someone leaves a notebook behind, the laundromat becomes a place that brings people together. One by one, customers start jotting down candid diary entries, opening their hearts and inviting acts of kindness from neighbours who were once just faces in the crowd.
But there is more to the diary than first appears, and before long the laundromat’s regulars are teaming up to solve a mystery and help the notebook’s former owner find peace.
A heartwarming, healing debut that instantly captured the hearts of Korean readers, this is a novel about the preciousness of human relationships and the power of solidarity in a world that is increasingly cold, fast-paced and virtual.
ARCS/DRC:
I have acquired only one new DRC from the author. This is a dystopian sci-fi book that got me really intrigued:

KINDLE:
Ah, so doing a quick math here, between last Saturday and this Saturday, I bought 16 books in total. They were all discounted at the time of purchase to £0.99, which is about $1.28 per book, so I spent a total of £15.84 or $20.48 roughly for this lot!

AUDIBLE:
There was a deal 2 for 1 credit, so I got these two. I am quite happy that the new novel by Matt Haig was available for this deal. And yes, I am so ready for a soppy story I am due for a good cry!

Overall, here in Bulgaria, one book costs around 25/30BGN which is about $16.59 a book! It is quite expensive given the times we live in, so I am more than pleased with my haul for the amount I paid.
How about you, what book have you got and have you read any of these? Happy reading 🙂
