“looseleft” adj. feeling a sense of loss upon finishing a good book, sensing the weight of the back cover locking away the lives of characters you’ve gotten to know so well. ”
― John Koenig, The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows

Honestly, this book bored me. I found myself looking anywhere but at the book, and sometimes, I had to reread certain passages multiple times because I lost concentration.

I mean, yes, I get it though, there are gaps in our language that need to be filled and new words are made for the things we experience, that otherwise cannot be described.

That said, I wonder if it’s truly necessary or urgent to invent new words, many of which come off as rather pretentious and, frankly, are completely pointless in my view. Instead of developing a new lexicon, we should be focusing on reducing taxes and increasing salaries.

Let’s create literature that offers an escape from our current reality, rather than this.
