This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

A quirky librarian meets Superman. There is some action mixed in this romance book, some “CIA” operations going on, some steam, and some cute stuff.

This is the second book in the series however, it could be read as a standalone!

The beginning of this story hooked me. It was interesting and I felt the author pulling me with the writing style.

I did enjoy the read, however, there were some things that simply irked me and did not click with me. Especially the second half of the book and the ending ruined it for me.

Overall the story could have been more chiseled and just presented differently this one was a bit bland for my taste and felt rushed and the whole “thriller” bit just felt out of place and it made me cringe a bit.

I also found Sunny a tad annoying at times and Carter was the stereotypical Superman sexy god that every woman drools over. Not that I have an issue with this trope but still meh.

The writing style of the author was really good fast-paced and easy to follow, I did like the steamy scenes and honestly, I would have enjoyed it so much more had this been strictly a romance book without all the other stuff that was going on in the background with Knuckles and Duke and all the politicians, and Sebastian (probably the most annoying character)…

So in conclusion, liked it but I was disappointed. Still would recommend it though.

if you know you know hahah
