Lin's Perspective

A fantasy story inspired by Nigerian folklore, culture, and history.

I was looking for something interesting and diverse to read in my library’s digital catalog when I stumbled upon the cover of this graphic novel and I was intrigued.

As soon as I started reading it I was faced with a storyline I struggled to follow and could not understand what was actually going on. For people who are native to Nigeria, I guess it would not have been difficult to get into as it referred to a lot of history and events that only natives or history majors would know. Had we been presented in the beginning with an explanation and a brief introduction on the background of the country, it would have been much more enjoyable to read and would have been informative for outsiders.

The art was amazing, that was the thing I enjoyed the most.

Definitely check it out though.
